It is one of the largest cities in the area of Talladega County and was named after Thomas H. Munford. This was a name given to him by his son John Munford, who was a former mayor of this city. This town is located at the corner of Talladega Highway and Hwy 31. If you travel west on Highway 31, you will find that there is a bridge over the river Alabanza.
